Our Young Dancers Program

Over the past 30 years we have designed, developed, tested, and implemented an exciting, innovative, and unique dance training program for preschool and primary school children from 3 - 7 years of age. It all starts with Cinderella. We take the story into the studio, we dance Cinderella, the forgetful fairy godmother, we are the mice, the horses, we dance at the ball, we make the music, we are the orchestra, we jump over puddles, lose our shoe, hop home, our ball gown turns back into rags, we are the prince on his galloping horse, but most importantly we all have an amazing time at ballet. We change the story every couple of months, dancing different characters, using different music and props, developing the children’s fine and gross motor skills. Imaginative and creative storytelling with lots of props and the use of musical instruments engage our young dancers. Our carefully designed exercises consider each developmental stage, building strength, control, co-ordination, and correct posture. Wonderful music & sounds, with different musical rhythms and dance styles, stimulates their listening skills. Group & partner work enhances social skills. Basic principles of ballet are introduced with the positions of the arms and feet. Correct use of ballet terminology such as demi-plié (bend of the knees) and sauté (Jump) are used during class. We ensure a positive and fun-filled learning environment which helps our young dancers build confidence. We hope that the children will love every minute, have lots of fun, and learn ballet steps, vocabulary, musicality and to move naturally with ease and freedom, feeling before form. Read More
New Adult Classes

Our beginner’s adult ballet classes are on Tuesday evenings in Belgrove Girls School Hall, from 6.30-7.30pm. Everyone is welcome to come and try a class, no matter your age or ability. No need to book a spot in advance. Upon arrival we will ask that everyone signs in as they come into the hall. Drop-in rate of €15 per class. Very enthusiastic people can avail of a 5 class pass for €70 or 10 class pass for €135. The class passes can be used as and when you wish during the year and will be stamped by the teacher when signing in. Read More
